"Just think about that one for a moment -- O'Reilly, who praised the civilian prosecution of Moussaoui in 2006, is complaining about the White House's civilian prosecution of Mohammed in 2009, to a person who was part of the White House that decided to prosecute Moussaoui in a civilian court."
It's all to be expected from the conservative base. If Holder had decided to try these terrorists in military court, the right wing would be screaming, "What does the Obama Administration have to hide? Why not have an open civilian trial?"
This isn't a liberal v conservative thing, so stop trying to make it one. It's about JUSTICE!!
There are Democrats opposed to holding the trial in NYC, as well as Republicans.
You miss the point of the post: that "civilian prosecution" was all right with Konservative Kommentators in 2006, but suddenly not all right now. What in the landscape do you see that has changed?

Al-Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui will spend the rest of his life in a maximum security prison for his role in the Sept. 11 attacks after a federal jury rejected the government's four-year quest to secure his execution for the deadliest terrorist strike on U.S. soil
Perhaps because we now see what a public trial will accomplish and how long it takes to happen. This article shows you why myself and many others want this done in a military court. It took over 4 years, the judge would not issue the death penalty and this man was in the eyes of the jurors not "as" responsible because he did not actually hijack anything. Well neither did KSM so why will his trial be any different?
Moussaoui was caught on US soil and isn't he a US citizen?
Loons do not know the difference.
They still cannot understand how things work.
I am believing most liberals are on the enemies side of things.
GET A GRIP LIBERALS, you cannot even figure out the difference in the two.
You have no clue what the heck is going on.
Op- If I were you I would run and hide since you did not know the difference in the two trials and the info that Sanrene had to provide for you once again.
I wish Americans of all political stripes would realize that politics is just rooted in scoring a political point in each moment, no matter how much it contradicts previous stances. We would all stop being led around like sheep attacking one another and start thinking for ourselves.
Just look at how they attacked "Hollywood's" Jamie Lynn Spears for getting pregnant and bringing the child to term, and then praised Palin's daughter for doing the same.

"On May 3, 2006, Bill O'Reilly led off his Fox News show with the sentencing of Zacarias Moussaoui, who was tried in civilian court and handed several consecutive life terms for his role in the September 11 terrorist attacks. According to O'Reilly: 'The al Qaeda savage promptly thanked them by saying 'America, you lost. I won.' But like what most of this degenerate says, he is wrong. Moussaoui is condemned to rot in his cell until he does die and if the Federal penitentiary is run properly, Moussaoui will be denied any and all privileges.' O'Reilly explained that 'by not executing Moussaoui, the U.S.A. shows the world we are a nation of laws, a nation that puts power in the hands of regular folks.'"

If you try him in a Military Court, are you giving him Prisoner of War Status?
A POW who has been repeatedly waterboarded
We hung Japanese Interrogators who waterboarded POWs
