It's interesting. The writer of that article does point out that it'll probably be blacks who are most disappointed or upset with the movie.

I have yet to hear anything from 'angry blacks' angry about the movie. I dont see any real internet negativity either.

IS this really just another case of some whites 'imagining black rage' at something blacks dont give a crap about? As with what happened in 'Tropical Thunder' (which black people seemed to like more than whities).

I can hear it now: "They've shoving mixed marriages down our throats!" "It's the liberal elite forcing their views on us!"
If that's the case,
another way of putting it would be:
they've been promoting "race purity" for decades

I'm sure it's a coincidence that 99% of Disney's heroes and good people have blue eyes, and 100% of villains and bad people have brown or black eyes.

With this movie it makes the last 4 "Disney Princesses" ethnicities other than Caucasian. While it's an obvious decision on their part I don't think it's a problem or that it really matters to the target audience . A Princess is a Princess.

Whenever a movie doesn't portray racist stereotypes of blacks, or any ethnicity other than WASP, a certain segment of the population complains about it being PC.

Stop Ceece...you're making too much sense. It's obviously a conspiracy of some sorts. People won't have anything to complain about if you talk all crazy like this.

I think this is an important point. The target market is children, who don't really see racial categories until adults impose them in their minds. "All the Little Children of the World" and all that.

Sometimes, while reading this forum, I have a hard time believing that it is almost the end of 2009. I swear, some people seem stuck in 1809.

Anyone that STEREOTYPES like this is an idiot.

I voted for Bush and I do NOT believe that is what they are doing. Ugh and people say conservatives stereotype.
