A house divided can not stand.... Those words were true In 1858 when they were first uttered and they stand true today.

If you need assistance in flushing predators, here's one clue:
"No one should suffer because they lack {fill in the blank}" should be prefaced with "No one should be compelled to labor for the benefit of another, so that..." because slavery is not an acceptable solution to the ills of mankind.

Remember, governments were instituted among men to SECURE RIGHTS. So the cooperative and mutual defense of property rights is anti-predator. And fighting predators is not a "culturally" limited task... unless predators dominate that culture.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the harmless productive people, no matter what culture, are prey to the harmful predators.
In case you haven't figured it out - the "left wing" / collectivist / communist culture is predatory - in that it seeks to take other people's property for itself, by force of government.
Just like that saying about "to the man with only a hammer, everything looks like a nail", one could argue that to those of the "warrior" persuasion (aka "fightin' folks"), everything is always about "us" vs "them".

It could not be more true. This has proven itself before. Civil War, this nation was nearly torn apart. Yugoslavia, as of the 1990s, no longer exists. However, it seems like when the USA was hit by 9-11, all of a sudden, we were all coming together for a bit. It was this attitude of "we're all in this together", at least for a few months or so.
There is one nation I do want to mention. Switzerland is a nation that speaks French, Italian,German, and Romansch. Somehow, that nation has stayed together.

If you don't mind being a victim of predators, don't let me stop you.

How do you know you're not easy "prey", i.e. among those sorts of folks who are always so easily manipulated by paranoia & fear? It's that tried and true predatory strategy known as "divide and conquer".

I suspect that when questioned, the American public would come up with more than five or six definitive ideologies and we'd need more countries...

Switzerland is smaller and likely more simple than here (e.g. For instance, no one is expecting them to be the world police like they do the US). Maybe that has something to do with it.

This is because there isn't much land to buy. The world is mapped out. You can't just go and invade another nation without a fight.

Smaller, simpler, and no one expecting them to be the world police. It would make it easier to concentrate on other things. Oddly enough, it's home to Red Cross, and the Geneva Conventions. Other than that, Switzerland has been mainly neutral. I don't know if that is really the reaon why though. The USA nearly came apart during the Civil War and no one expected them to be the world police.

So which prey want to bust up the herd?
Who thinks that being a smaller group will enhance security?

Of course, since most Americans are victims of the world's greatest propaganda ministry, it's not always evident who's in charge of the wolf pack.

Here's a hint:
Declaration of Independence states that governments have two jobs:
1. secure rights, and
2. govern those who consent.

Over the years, that simple set of jobs has been (ahem) changed.
