According to the 1990 Census it was 86%, but it decreased to 76% in 2008.

It seems like younger Americans are increasingly rebelling against religion.

Practicing religion is fine with me, just don't let it mix with politics.

1990 was a Census year, 2008 was not. Where did the 2008 figure come from?

Note sure about your source of info, but its ture the younger generation does not buy into the whole religion thing. Why? because it lacks human emotion and does not allow people to experience life. It boxes you in and tells you how to live your life. Its too structured and not freeing enough.

Basically its too strict. That and the fact that older generations have been shoving it down our throats since birth and they harass us daily about it.

If the numbers weren't generated by similar methods/sample sizes the comparison is meaningless.

Like Mark Twain said there are three types of lies.

Lies

Damn lies

Statistics!

Christianity has been on the decline for centuries. And all of it has been fully prophesied in the Bible. Therefore, none of this is a surprise to the believers.

I think that those not christian actually don't understand it. It has nothing to do with those that claim to be christians. That would have included Jim Jones for instaqnce.
