No, using "happy holidays" then making an exception for the muslim holiday is what pisses people off. If you're going to use happy holidays, use it across the damn board. Pandering to muslims is exceptional bull****.
Actually I think it's called "marketing". Best Buy does it well. It may very well explain why whoever came up with that advertising concept is driving to work in their brand new Audi while you are posting rants on city-data at 2 a.m. on a work night.
That's good! Hopefully Best Buy won't be as packed if the Evangelicals flee to Wal-Mart. If this is all it takes to get rid of the good ole boys, i wish more stores pandered to Muslims. Maybe now the parking lot at Best Buy won't have raised trucks double parked.
Yeah maybe that will free up more room for more naive liberals to park their stupid looking Priuses which they bought based on bad science.
I agree, we let the manufacturing ship sail a long time ago.
But...
What do we do with people who are not capable of attaining higher education or using critical thinking skills?
Many people are not smart at all but could easily perform manufacturing tasks.
Not disagreeing with you, but wondering what to do with those who are not so smart... other than have them listen to right wing talk radio, that is.
Well, since they have stronger backs than minds, we could use them to punch a few holes in mother Earth now that the AGW scam has been laid bare. Can you believe some people on this forum were actually stupid enough to buy into that stranded polar bear nonsense? What sort of dim wit would actually believe that?
I am already boycotting BestBuy. Their atmosphere is warehouse-like and cold, their employees nasty and unhelpful. Also don't like the blaring noise pawned off as "music".
Here is a Naughty or Nice list for 2009 of those stores which do and do not use Christmas in advertising:
I would think that pious Christians would consider businesses that use the word Christmas as a means to sell goods as something akin to the money changers in the temple.
Heres the crux of it: They are begging us to purchase things now. They feel more of that absolute burning need to have us in store and please us with the economy in a down turn, so suddenly Christmas reappears in their vocabulary.
Your hypothesis is based on the idea that Best Buy would suffer loss of market share just as long as they got to annoy Christians. That's - sad. Best Buy does not base its holiday marketing on a deep-felt spiritual conviction, but on what moves merchandise.
That cashier who wishes a you a Merry Christmas? She doesn't care. Not even a little bit. She'd say "ph'nglui mglw'nafh Ctulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"if her management team thought it'd make you buy more stuff.
