Approval of Obama on Afghan war dives - USATODAY.com
On a series of fronts, Obama is moving against headwinds:
In other words, He is on the wrong side of public opinion.
Quote:
• By more than 2-1, Americans say the United States shouldn't close the terrorist prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, as Obama has promised.
• By 49%-44%, they oppose passing a health care bill in Congress this year, which he calls critical.
• A majority are against holding the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York, and nearly six in 10 say the self-proclaimed 9/11 mastermind should be tried in a military rather than a civilian court.

Virtually all the polls say the same thing, massive disapproval of his policies. These polls will help in stopping his radical agenda.

What makes you think he is all of a sudden going to start listening to the American people when he knows so much more than any of us. Too bad he didn't tell us that the change was from democracy to communism. I knew it from looking at his record, but so many choose not to use their brains instead of being pulled along by the hooks in their noses. LOL Without meaning to I think I called anyone who voted for him a pig!

This is what happens when the populace votes for people based on ability to speak without looking at experience and previous agendas/policies.
Fact is, the overwhelming majority of Americans don't fall on the side of progressive liberalism, especially when it comes to foreign issues.
This is proof by the polls, yet these holier-than-thou progressives will continue to push their agenda and their unpopular policies...

I find it particularly interesting that the liberal left continues to reside in a cloud of utopic bliss, unwavering in their view that Obama is here to save us all, and ignorant of the facts placed before them indicating that utopia was nothing more than skin pigment and grand rhetoric. Meanwhile, the logical folk in America are positioning for a major incumbent dump in 2010/2012. Leave it to liberals to flub a congressional super-majority, and still think they have some measure of clout. It's really pretty farcical.

The only thing that will stop him is losing the House and Senate in 2010. I'm not sure there are enough House seats in play. Here's a good article: CQ Politics | Democrats Who Don’t Retire Make Takeover Tougher (http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?docID=news-000003248535&topic=election_2010 - broken link)
And here is an interactive map with the Senate races. CQ Politics | Senate Race Ratings Map for 2010 (http://innovation.cq.com/senate2010_map - broken link) The GOP is going to have to work very hard to swing the vote. I don't know if they are going to pull it off.

While a huge victory would be nice for the GOP in 2010, all they need are a few more seats in the Senate to tip the balance. Nancy Pelosi can continue to run wild in the House, but if she can't get the votes in the Senate, then what's the point? In other words, a few more seats in the Senate and Obama and Democrats will be forced to play nice again. The funny thing is, they haven't accomplished crap with a supermajority anyway. lol

They're willing to take the loss of a few career seats if it means passing their idological straitjacket agenda. They don't care what the populace wants, neither are they listening. They are counting on the fact that the American voters are stupid, let the wool be pulled over their eyes, and will more than likely, fall for it again. When the Government fears its people you have Liberty. When the people fear their Govt, you have Tyranny. Govt isn't working for the people. You are working for Uncle Sam. Bad agenda and bad policies will continue to be passed until Americans are so miffed and hurt that there is a backlash. And even then, that's assuming Acorn won't be fudging the numbers, just like the Govt cooks the books on the unemployment, Obamacare, and other numbers. Creative book-keeping, lies, and misdeeds.
