Of-course we are discussing general characteristics. The black male and female tend to be naturally more muscular and stronger than white kids.
Wrong,
if you travel to other countries, you'll see that black people are stereotyped as being skinny and weak (discrimination = poverty = bad nutrition)
Other thing,
darker skin make people look more muscular, that's why body builders always use creams to make themselves look dark skinned because any competition.
In many of these threads about black kids, it's always stated that blacks focus on sports too much, but I bring up this fact and now no one has anything to say.
Yet another thread obesessing on the lives of Black folk.
Blacks dominate basketball, football and baseball (including Latin Americans). The best soccer players in the world are also black or at least nonwhite.
Many of the other sports you cite (auto racing, bowling, billiards, golf), are not really sports that require athleticism.

I have more respect for a black kid wanting to grow up to be a pro-sports athlete, than them wanting to grow up and be some ghetto fabulous gangsta rapper, OTOH I have more respect for the black kid that aspires to be something that actually requires an education....like a doctor, lawyer, teacher, etc.
Soccer - boring, doesn't give chance to show range of athletic abilities. Not enough brothers in the history of the sport to emulate.
Soccer is the greatest sport in the world. The greatest soccer player ever to live was black (Pele), and many of the all time greats were black too. Soccer is not an American sport, sure. But internationally, from the first World Cup in 1930, there have always been great black soccer stars.
Great European clubs in France, Portugal, England, Holland and Italy have recruited African, Caribbean and native immigrant children since before World War II. In the 60s, 70s and 80s the first black players appeared as stars for the top European club teams. By the '80s, national teams for England, Holland and France were half black or more, and by the '90s, blacks were appearing in greater numbers for the aforementioned teams as well as Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, Wales, Sweden, and others, and by the turn of this century, the brothers were appearing for teams as disparate as Italy, Spain, Norway, Germany and Poland. Brothers are the stars, and despite rampant racism on the European continent, black players do show a great range of athletic ability, creativity and dominance.
I'm black and I agree that the black community focuses too much on sports, especially the boys. On one hand, athletics provides a positive, healthy activity for kids. This is especially important for inner city black kids who might otherwise turn to bad habits. But I think adults emphasize sports over academics for most black kids. It seems like most black kids get more praise from their parents, especially their fathers, for performing well on the field than in the classroom.
I played tennis throughout high school and college, but academics was always my first priority.
You're looking at statistics the wrong way. It's not who is dominating sports, but that blacks are not in high numbers in any other field EXCEPT sports. That is the concern.
Whites are also dominant in science. So nobody's worried.
Nobody's worried about Asians not dominating sports. Why not? Because they are dominating the top SAT scores and college admissions.
So I've given you the reasons why people are concerned about having ONLY sports role models for black youth. Because they need to diverse.
