Neither Sarah Palin nor Carrie PreJean speaks for me as a free-thinking Conservative. I think the left's obsession on these two individuals are disgusting as the right's obsession on Obama.

She is also someone who has proven to be a hypocrite and a poor representation of Christianity. Not that I'm defending Perez Hilton or anything because he was a slimeball.

On the contrary, people do understand it. That's the reason for all the hearty belly-laughs.

but I love the traditional conservative values - like letting your daughter run wild and get knocked up by a mental midget, like being elected to an office and then quitting after a year because you can make more money hocking a book to people even dumber than you are, like taking money from beauty pageants for boob jobs, like make numerous sex tapes for the fun and pleasure of others.

Yep, sounds like traditional Christian Conservative values to me!

Couldn't resist proving my point?

A trait that indicates a needy and dependent person. Nothing of which to be proud.

Prejean did what a lot of other teenagers do with the new technology. It wasn't a prudent decision, but we all screw-up and especially so at seventeen. But the Christian faith is not about the past because we know we cannot change the past, so why keep score? It's enough that we learn from it and not punish others for our own short-comings (see abortion).

Bristol got knocked up. Nothing new under the Sun. Her boyfriend may not have been the one her parents would have preferred. Ever try to have a logical discussion with a seventeen year old girl? Trust me, they're not built that way. So the issue isn't what has taken place in the past. Teens will exercise poor judgment and bad things will happen. The issue is how they are they handled in the present. We feel it is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness. Families like the Prejeans and Palins understand that the traditional nuclear family with both parents together and working to raise their children has the best outcome. The Palins, last I heard, had invited Levi to Thanks Giving dinner and were holding the door open for reconciliation. He may choose to do that once his fifteen minutes are over.

You see, liberals can lash out at public figures who espouse traditional conservative values, but their personal attacks simply illustrate that they have no solutions of their own that haven't failed in the past. Everything that has been tried to remedy societies ills through liberal means has created a far worse outcome. But with nothing else to offer, liberals now must focus on the personal destruction of their opponents. So it may be helpful to remember that neither Prejean nor Palin are the issue. The failure of liberal policies is the issue, and as long as liberals continue to try to sell failed liberalism, a conservative Bogey man, or woman, will be front and center and the target of left wing slander.
Are you trying to say that 17 year olds shouldn't have enough of sense of self responsibility that they wouldn't make pornographic tapes (especially being products of the digital era) or dont have enough sense to wear condoms?

I'm not that old, but knew that when I graduated high school at 17 I needed to find a full time job to pay for me to go to college since my parents couldn't afford to finance me and I didn't want the loan burden. I took a couple years off, went to community college, transferred to a state university and graduated while working at least 1 half-time job at all times. I managed to work my ass off to move to the paradise that Prejean was fortunate enough to have grown up in. I can tell you after seeing the culture here in her backyard that "mistakes" are failures when you're that old.

Is wearing a condom or not taping yourself a liberal issue? While you think that teenagers are not worth talking to. I would argue that teenagers need frank discussions now more then ever about how their behaviors have consequences.

Uh...the father of a woman's grandson is most certainly family. You seem rather liberally confused on this. And you liberally toss out the word "liberal" so that it becomes meaningless, other that to say, "someone I disagree with."

Not at all. But since conservatives like to denounce both condom use and pornography, one is surprised to find them engaging in them.

Mark Foley's career was damaged when it was discovered that he was hitting on teenagers. Same goes for David Vitter's cavorting with hookers, and Larry Craig of bathroom-stall fame. That's because they were Republican family values hypocrites. Barney Frank's and Gerry Studds' careers were not ruined by their sex scandals, because they were not hypocrites.

Understanding something indicates neediness? Is that to say that you understand nothing, because you're not needy?
