Not in my experience.

I have many friends that do not believe in God that are loving caring people. I know (claimed) Christians that are not so loving. However anyone that tries to paint with such a broad brush has serious issues that should be addressed.

Any whiny self-righteous Bible thumper attempting to make this a political issue should try actually reading and understanding the Bible instead of brandishing it as a weapon. Their pissing & moaning about others of different views highlights their own intolerance.

But bashing others because of THEIR beliefs makes you intolerant as well...

You apparently need xianity because you can't figure it out without something telling you what is right or wrong.

Many of us an figure it out on our own.

Interesting comments. Luke 6:46

I'm in agreement that the "religious", as you describe them, base their understanding of God far too often on what is most convenient. I expect we have all done that to some degree. Good thing God gave us the Gospel to explain the Kingdom of Heaven. You are very correct that people wishing to understand God should derive that understanding from the Bible.

If you read Thessalonians 2 you will see Paul instructs the brethren to go by the written AND the oral tradition passed down .
It says NOWHERE in the Bible that the Bible alone is the sole truth .
To say otherwise reduces us to puppets and rules out any action of the Holy Spirit.
