If the South is not different from rest of USA then why the need for Confederate flag?

What's the complain if someone in California flies a Confederate flag or Maine???

We, THE PEOPLE, of the United States of America are protected by our ,YES, a CONSTITUTION THAT GIVES ME A RIGHT TO FLY ANY GODDAMN FLAG I DESIRE!

If the morons in DC flew a NORTH KOREAN FLAG ,I bet you there would be no controvercy!

If Americans hate white southerners so much, then why have 5 presidents in the last 50 years been from the former Confederacy (although Bush Sr. was only a nominal Texan)?

Judging by who gets elected president it seems like there's more bad feelings about the Northeast considering there hasn't been a Northeastern president since JFK. Since 1963, besides the aforementioned 5 presidents, there has been one midwestern president and three western presidents, but no presidents from the northeast.

I've always argued the South is unique and has it's own culture. I just think it's amusing the South tries to cherry pick what constitutes the South instead of being honest and admitting the South is complicated and that it has both wonderful qualities (food, culture, style) and ugly qualities (racism, bigotry).
