"Such a bald misstatement, at least as it pertains to the period I served as Secretary of Defense, deserves a response.”
"If any such requests occurred, ‘repeated’ or not, the White House should promptly make them public. The President's assertion does a disservice to the truth and, in particular, to the thousands of men and women in uniform who have fought, served and sacrificed in Afghanistan.”
“In the interest of better understanding the President's announcement last night, I suggest that the Congress review the President’s assertion in the forthcoming debate and determine exactly what requests were made, who made them, and where and why in the chain of command they were denied.”
Isn't this what obama said should happen to those that distort, lie and misstate the facts - they should be called out, yes?
Pentagon officials confirm - there was NO request on their desks for 8 months, as obama claims.
I knew there was something fishy about that statement when I heard Obama say it.
You have to give credit to Rumsfeld for putting Obama and Congress on the spot. If the GOP is smart, they'll push hard for a review of the President's assertion, make sure that it stays in the headlines, and force Congress' hand on determining if President Obama told a bold face lie or not. For Rummy to come out of the woodwork by pushing Congress to investigate the claims, i'll hedge my bet that Obama lied to us last night.

Yep, kind of like when Nanny Pelosi claimed the CIA lied to the Senate but failed to produce proof. Those who make serious accusations from positions of power better be able to back it up with facts.
Don Skeletor Rumsfeld was featured in a cartoon. He sat in front of the TV as Iraq was bombed, did the nasty to himself, and muttered "burn..baby burn." Sounds like he's a great source for political correctness.
Sorry but your oversized graphics will never change the fact that Cheney will always hold the title The VP Vampire. He has thrived and lived off of the blood of others.
To really enjoy this one, you gotta read it slow:
Rumsfeld...calls...out...liars.
Good for a chuckle.
Funnier yet, the OP cites The Weekly Standard, the publication recommended by smart people like Mike Medved and Ann Coulter.
