Wow what an obtuse analogy.

If the potential children of a sibling union were not at risk I guess I could really care less what they do. We can safely say a gay couple will not reproduce health issues due to being related.

You should have stuck with the animal analogy. ...ie why can't I marry my dog... it makes as much sense as this rubbish. You must be really fixated on this issue to think about it so much. Do we sense repressed fears?

Pet Goat?
Where did I hear that before?

I think in some places siblings can and do get married. I don't think it's wise, as their offspring are likely to have some serious genetic issues as well as mental issues, whereas homosexuals cannot produce kids on their own, so if they use medical procedures, there will be more genetic diversity, and chance of a healthier child..

I think it was cousins, not siblings.
There are, I believe, medical problems that follow the offspring of close relatives.

I posted on this some time back but - we know a "couple" who are actually Father and Daughter. They hold themselves out as being married.

Siblings getting married is a ridiculous argument against gay marriage, because most sibling that would do this are ....straight! Using this ridiculous argument comparatively, straight marriage would allow siblings to marry. Man and woman, right?

Marriage is not a religious institution, ask any atheist straight married couple. They did not do it in a church, nor was any church required to marry them.

In other parts of the world where gay marriage has been occurring for a number of years, none of the fear mongering types of marriage described in this thread have taken place because of gay marriage. NONE.

We're monogamous ( 20+ years) and were married last summer. Thank God we live in Canada.

What we've noticed in our long years is that many who scream loudly against gay people shut up quickly when they witness one of their children or loved ones, finally admitting to being gay, getting horribly persecuted for simply existing.

Just think of the suicides committed by young people when they find out they are inescapably one of the most persecuted minorities on the planet. It's easier than having to face the bigoted horrors of what we've read here so far.

Do you lose sleep at night because of this?
Does it do anything to impact your life..at all? If not, who cares. I think incest is kind of foul too, but it's not my place to care what other people do?

If only people would do the same for same sex couples. Sigh. Like it matters to other people.

This analogy is as silly as saying the Judeo/Christian religions should not be allowed because it could lead to incestuous marriages like that of Abraham (who married his sister Sarah).
