Exactly right, and I think a lot of them are going to be surprised in 2010.
For those of you in Ohio, this means Sherrod Brown, for one. This guy is totally worthless and completely in bed with the Obama adminsitration. He is aboiut as far left as one can get.
Brown is for governmemnt "health care", Cap 'n Tax (errr I mean Trade) and all the favorites of the liberals. Read his Website: Nothing but lies.
You mean all those jobs that Americans wouldn't take if a gun was held to their head? Those jobs?
Who does the menial jobs in places that don't have a lot of illegal aliens or legal aliens like Montana, Wyoming, etc.??? They have lawns, dishes, motels, etc. The work gets done by citizens!
There are MILLIONS of American CITIZENS who do these jobs. Not everybody has a college education or ever will.
This is a lame argument because many illegals have gone back to their home countries because there are no job opportunities here.
Not as many as you might think.
Besides, since they are here ILLEGALLY.......whose to say what percentage of them have decided its still better HERE.....especially if they are making big bucks in the drug trade or assisting other illegals to be smuggled over here or big money in fake documents, criminal organizations/gangs, prostitution, ID theft and whatever else criminals do to make money.
I still see a LOT of "opportunity" for MANY of them to STAY here despite the pathetic economy....until the day ever comes when they get arrested and hopefully, deported.
Then....they'll probably be back soon enough.

I am sure there are a few as you describe but most are hard working laborers trying to send money back home.
I for sending them home and getting rid of unemployment benefits so the "US Citizens" will go back to work!

Many? No, a small percentage. There are still over 20 MILLION in the U.S. by most estimates. Those stories you read about illegals going back to Mexico because of the economy doesn't mean many. Even if a million went back home that still leaves a whole lot.

We seriously do need to get the illegals out and bring wages back to a respectable level.
Illegal immigrants have not only taken the lowliest jobs, but they have taken over a lot of very decent jobs that many Americans would happily do. And they have drove wages down so low, that's the reason why Americans won't do the jobs. The incredibly low pay, not that the job is that bad.
The immigrants themselves are just doing what they have to do, I don't blame them. I blame our corrupt government for leaving out border wide open, on purpose, and encouraging illegal aliens to come here by the millions for the benefit of big business and those at the top of the pyramid.

No, the jobs Americans won't take at below minimum wage pay. "American" corporations love to hire illegals because they'll take the pitiful pay and they can't complain to government agencies about hazardous working conditions.
