The problem with falsifying information is that one creates a backlash against the initial intent- to advance alternative energy sources and create a "green" energy program. Every liberal, and conservative, can find ecological and economic benefits to pursuing alternative energy in a rational fashion. However, when the impetus to pursue "green energy" sources is based on falsified data and academic disingenuousness, a backlash is created against the initial goal, as the public is convinced that they have been decieved and the goal lacks merit.
Leave it to a bunch of liberal idiots- take a decent proposal, such as alternative energy sources, and destroy the whole momentum toward that goal by lying about some monumental hoax like global warming. These idiots are like the Jimmy Carter of energy and have set the ultimate goals back 30 years. Thanks , you twits!
According to the NYT, The University of East Anglia has named Sir Muir Russell to investigate the " quality of research and data-keeping at the university’s Climatic Research Unit." http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/04/wo...ritainbrf.html
A quick peek at Wikipedia (yeah, I know, careful what you read in Wikipedia) reveals Sir Muir Russell has had his own scandal: "He was widely believed to be primarily responsible for the massive overspend on the new Scottish Parliament Building and was criticised by Lord Fraser of Carmyllie's enquiry for failing to keep the politicians informed that the expenditure was far in excess of the budget". I wonder how reliable an investigation this will be? Anyone familiar with this guy?
I'm throwing in an edit to add this link: ScottishPower Appoints New Advisory Board (http://www.greenjobs.com/Public/newsitems/news00685.htm - broken link) This guy is on the Advisory Board of Green Jobs, which appears to be a recruiting agency designed to "Bring Recruiters and Job-seekers Together in the Renewable Energy Industries". Green Jobs? I see a whitewash coming up for CRU.

It just dawned on me! I have a "liberal arts" degree. But I'm a conservative!
Well, just be thankful you don't have a liberal science degree.
