But then, there are already plenty of things making Baron's associates in the American conservative movement less than happy. Several years ago, her columns about sex for Atlanta's Sunday Paper became the stuff of scandal.

It doesn't matter what anyone says about the leaders of the Religious Right because they will just spin it so their followers will forgive them. They will say they prayed about their sins, that God has forgiven them, and that the whole process has brought about a spiritual reawakening. Before they quit spinning they will be back on their pedestals. But let a liberal sin and recognize the error of their ways but that doesn't count because they didn't make a public cry-fest confession and/or beg God publicly for forgiveness.
The only ones who don't know that the people who they believe can do no wrong and don't get called to account for their actions will do the wrong they preach against are the ones so enthralled by their fervor that they won't see it till the hypocrisy kicks them in the nuts. Once people say it's okay for a person to do something and another not to based on political party, or religion, or any other choice...we all get screwed.

That would first require a liberal to believe in God, which we all know is seldom the case, especially here on this forum.

You're probably right about the liberals on this forum but there ARE many Christians and many Christian Churches that lean to the left.
The converse is in no way true either.......conservatives are not all fundamentalist Christians. They are probably a rather small minority of those who want to be called "conservatives". There are also many conservatives for whom religion plays no part in their lives.
