Good point. Too bad the conservatives liked it when Reagan was doing all he could to destroy stuff.

That's why the conservatives love Republicans because that's what they're all about, "Destruction & Division"!

Hey guys I don't want to turn this into a Reagan bash (I actually think Reagan did alot for this country, and he receives some well deserved praise)

But I honestly feel if Obama did the exact same things as Reagan (which on things he is) Conservatives will hate him for it and continue to bash him, march, follow Rush and Glenn beck in a HATE OBAMA campaign.

But on Reagan (for things like budget deficits, stimulus spending and many many others) they praise him for it or completely ignore it
Why?

In his second book, Obama had a lot of positive and complimentary things to say about Reagan. It doesn't surprise me that some people see similarities in the two administrations. Obama studied Reagan thoroughly.

The question should have been answered by remembering Reagan (and H.W. Bush) spoke to school children with no flack while Obama got all kinds of absurd criticisms about spreading socialism and whatever else.

Short version. Obama couldn't put his pants on well enough for some people. There's a clue there and it ain't "politics as usual".

Since Reagan left office every President since has followed suit on many different things. Perhaps the most obvious issue is that of the national debt, over 8 years Reagan ran up more national debt than ALL other Presidents from Washington to Carter did combined. GHW Bush did the same, Clinton did the same (to a lesser extent). GW Bush surpassed them all by creating as much national debt as ALL Presidents from Washington to Clinton did combined. Here's the thing, Obama looks to easily take this record from GW Bush. When Bush was in office many were talking about how bad he was for sinking America into a trillion dollars worth of debt on the Iraq conflict alone, Obama has created multiple trillion dollars of extra debt and his first year as President isn't even over yet.

If Obama can't borrow the money he simply tell Bernanke to print it, which is obvious considering the plummiting USD index. Reagan may have stopped being President a little over 20 years ago, but his borrow (or print) and spend policies have continued. Obama is making the Gipper and Dubya look like amateurs in this game...

Thats a great example Sarge, so is the answer he's bashed so heavily despite similar methods to Reagan early on because Obama is a Democrat?

Or is it more to it than that?

I guess with no true conservatives in this forum answering these questions; either they agree with me or running scared from this debate because it makes there IDOL Reagan seem more like Obama....

I would have to agree with your assessment. It would appear that each successive president since Reagan has practically made it into a noteworthy accomplishment of sorts. Like setting a new world record.
This is why it becomes more convincing to see that each POTUS is a pawn.....a puppet, of the shadow entity that REALLY calls the shots.
This entity is on a one-way ride into spending US ALL.....into oblivion like it is there sole mission.
And just LOOK at ALL they have spent on so much that served NO purpose or benefit over the last half century for sure!
They live for today, I suppose.

It's not just about the economy. Ronald Reagan was staunchly pro-life (even to the point of writing and publishing a small book about abortion.) Obama is not.
