Of course when that 'actual person' leaves the womb the Republican stance is "You're on your own dude/dudess, don't come crying to the government for anything, we're busy building other nations"

Well a couple of points. It is consistent with the conservatives world view, less government intrusion. Less does not mean none as I explained above. So, as you imply, conservatives are not hypocritical for being for law and order (against murder) and for personal responsiblity.
Now as far as nation building, it is Obama who is increasing the number of troops in Afghanistan, no reasonable person would call him a conservative.

EXACTLY.
I agree 100 percent.
I have said this many times on the forum.
"Republicans are only prolife when you are in the womb. After that, it is see ya suckaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! "
Yep, one certainly not to be entrusted to (for the most part) a group of gray haired old men.
I don't understand your response. Once a fetus reaches viability is it a life? I mean once it can live outside the mother, does it have a right to life? Gray hair really doesn't enter into it.
Many Conservative Republicans are very against big, intrusive government. If this is so, how can they also be against abortion? Wouldn't government deciding what a woman can do with her body, effectively removing a woman's choice, be perceived as big government interfering in a womans health? This seems like a huge dichotomy to me.
Few if any republicans are against ANY government at all. Ie. we don't want police to become private, judicial system to be abolished, etc...
The issue with abortions, is that we are talking about a human life being murdered.
Liberals don't care about the fetus (having it's own DNA, being fully human being), since the fetus has not yet killed anyone. IF the fetus could kill, then the liberals would want to make sure noone harms the fetus.
Liberals want to abolish death penalty for the terrorists, murderers, etc... but don't dare interfere with the murder of the yet unborn children.
That to me, is an even bigger dichotomy.
