He's not "holy" enough for the millions of Evangelical Christians who have dedicated themselves to the Republican Party and who expect social conservatism to play a big role in their political views.

I'd love to see the Republicans become more libertarian, but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

My point is ...........as superficial as it may seem Paul comes a cross as a mix of Jack Kevorkian and Gabby Hayes, not exactly Presidential. Also when he started to admit that he thought 9-11 was our fault, he eliminated himself as a serious candidate.

It's sad and frustrating when some Americans would prefer a "smooth talking" candidate over someone who actually has an indepth knowledge on various policies (economic, foreign, etc.)

Ron Pauls comments were directed at failed policys inside and outside of our borders. The unintended consequences when our Federal Government meddles in areas it shouldn't.

Apr 2004
inside the borders:
"Two specific regulations proved to be disastrous for dealing with the thugs who, without even a single gun, took over four airliners and created the havoc of 9/11. Both the prohibition against guns in cockpits and precise instructions that crews not resist hijackers contributed immensely to the horrors of 9/11."

"Instead of more responsibility being given to the airlines, the government has taken over the entire process. This has been encouraged by the airline owners, who seek subsidies and insurance protection. Of course, the nonsense of never resisting has been forever vetoed by all passengers."

outside the borders:
"Evidence has shown that there was no connection between Saddam Hussein and the guerilla attacks on New York and Washington, and since no weapons of mass destruction were found, other reasons are given for invading Iraq. The real reasons are either denied or ignored: oil, neo-conservative empire building, and our support for Israel over the Palestinians."

The frightening part about the bolded statement, not enough of our "leaders" read the CIA Report that Ron Paul got his info from.

Rudolf Giulianis' own city was attacked and he had no idea why.

If the Republicans become more like Ron Paul, consider me a supporter. I suspect though that the Republican party will become even more evangelical and distant from most Americans.

There is no real difference between the elephants and the jackasses. Both want bigger government, higher taxes and more control. The only difference is who they go after to pay for it. One thing for sure, none will touch their masters, the puppetmasters who finance their campaigns. It has been called the two-headed one party system and that's a fact. The Republicans will continue their stealth big government crusade and profit from the fallout against Democrats next time. Then when the Republicans are hated the sheep go to the Democrats again. Step by step the US goes down the drain.

Does "teh leader of "teh westerm" world need to waste our money on wars and foreign aid while we have an out of control deficit?

P.S:When you post do you notice that half your paragraph is underlined in red? It might be a good idea to click those words.

I agree with you. Ron Paul tells it like it is. No BS!

You are so right on all accounts. I'll certainly vote for him again if he runs. The news media will probably try to suppress news about him and he'll probably not be allowed in some of the debates. I'm really surprised that his name can be mentioned on City-Data. He's a true American hero, whether he runs or not.

He'll have my full support if he runs in 2012.
