"Majority Democrats argued that a permanent tax rate makes it easier for families and small business owners to do estate planning."

Those nice Democrats, always just looking out for people.

The wealthy in the USA need to pitch in and sacrifice. This Country hasn't been paying it's bills for a Decade now.

You whiny right wingers who worship the rich will just have to deal with it.

There is nothing I know of in traditional American values and ideals of meritocracy and equal opportunity that calls for the creation of a permanent, hereditary upper class controlling ever increasing amounts of wealth and power. The estate tax is the ONLY tool we have to defend ourselves against exactly that.

Yes he did. Unfortunately many of Grampa's Grandkid's think they are God's gift to the World and selfishly forget they owe a debt as Americans to chip in for the common good.

The traditional American value/dream is alway been to be achieve wealth.

Wealth is power to a limit. The true power comes from the people. Two examples in my adult life time are the Civil rights movement and the Viet Nam protests.

And to a smaller event, Gov. Rick Perrys attempt to have mandatory vaccines for high school girls.

We don't need to tax the wealthy to protect the middle class. I believe the Constitution will do it.

The next Battle of the People will be over health care. The people will not forget and will vote come next election time.

If the wealthy were so darn powerful, how did it happen they are taxed at a higher rate?

Theft is theft, but this looks more like Grand Theft Auto, Matic, that is!
