That summarizes the problem with the perception of global warming. "But it sure wouldn't take much."
Slow change is more difficult to perceive and to do something, if at all possible, about.
Slow change seems to be the goal of many of your ideas. Just like trying to get everyone in America to try socialism.
The perception and global idealogy forced via fear and poverty is the goal of every person looking to control the masses.
The masses (currently in the United States) still think and have freedom of choice which thank god lets free press and common sense ideas prevail. While political power and "unity" propoganda contunies from the mouths of washington they continue their lies and fake science in hopes we ignore the truth. Liberty is usually lost not by force but with slow erosion and teaching lies and or the promise of "free" stuff.
Global climate change was the backbone of the socialist movement to get the "world" to unite under a common goal of govenrment power and control. To control individuals, corporations and anything to do with controlling wealth and choice. So the "Global Change Religion" became the last hope for communists and those who lean to the facist left cook up a story of doomsday science with government backing. Brainwashing kids for decades of global warming nonsense in public schools without any other side of the story. Sounds like a science fiction movie but all to real. How did this happen?
Public Education is mostly full of liberals and those who speak democrat party propoganda and get their news from the local union news bulletin.
So in the end with liberty we are able to have a RATIONAL discussion and common sense decisions on the end of the world science.
Go, and embrace your liberty. And see what wonderful things come of it

This is a really neat illustration of the "slippery slope" delusion that even the slightest bit of "give" will eventually lead to some sort of absolutist dystopia. It happens on both the right and the left, usually when somebody wants to politicize a point that has no business being political. The rest of the world is a lot better at separating *blank* and politics where *blank* can be religion, science, etc.
Here, in the United States, it seems like the party faithful of both sides just can't help themselves but throw entire issues under the bus based on the most tenuous of connections to party ideology.
Global warming = taxing emissions = hurting business = slightly worse for Conservatives than Liberals? Well, then Global Warming must = Liberal Plot to take over the world!!!
C'mon, that is the biggest load of hooey I've ever heard! The Green party in Taiwan doesn't accuse the Blue party of faking a climate crisis in order to implement socialized medicine, or supporting the death penalty in order to kill all the Hakka people off. But you hear people making that sort of nutball statement all the time here.
There's a real shortage of critical thinking in the United States, especially amongst the party faithful. I suppose it must be somehow comforting to have a world view in which everything falls into two neatly packaged catagories, but that's not reflective of real life. It's fortunate we have a very small number of independent voters/thinkers who recognize this fact and help steer this country.
Incremental changes are incremental changes. You don't have a government health care insurance plan one day and a communist government the next. Revolution is revolution and small adjustments are small adjustments. The frog in slowly boiling water is not an appropriate example for EVERY SINGLE ISSUE FOR EVER AND EVER. Seriously, take a deep breath, turn down the demagogues on the radio and TV, and actually THINK for ONCE.

I'd like to send this kind of info to the Senator in U.S. who is doing the hearings. We all should send stuff. I think they live in a bubble and it needs popping. LOL
Sorry, you can't.....

The global climate change conference kicks off today in Copenhagen.
Negotiators from 192 countries will spend the next two weeks trying to wrangle an agreement on curbing greenhouse gases.
Although more than 100 world leaders are expected to attend, one of the parties most crucial to the outcome of the talks -- the U.S. Congress -- won't even have a seat at the negotiating tables.
