It doesn't look good for them at all.

Their base vaporized and won't be back.

Much of the republican base, disgusted with McCain as I was, will be back and with a vengeance.

Pass health care? Listen volks, the dems can pass anything and everything they want without a single republican vote but look at them. So pathetic.

Something tells me this Obama supporter won't be there to vote in 2010.

Nothing about "loud" in the definition of bombastic.
Pompous? Yes
Overblown? Yes
Pretentious? Yes

Loud? No

Hmm. Seems those folks you consider "rational" don't read the dictionary.

bombastic - definition of bombastic by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.
Bombastic Definition | Definition of Bombastic at Dictionary.com
bombastic - Definition from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

The GOP can still block everything they can with filibusters with Lieberman's help.....

Anyway as I said to Robert Gibbs if you feel so confident about next year go to my thread on the elections page and start being specific.

BTW you know full well she didn't mean that literally....

We've had this conversation before. You seem to still be hung up on majority-minority status. Which means zilch really unless the margins are exceptionally thin, as they are now. Only a few more seats in the hands of the GOP are needed to Derail the Obama Free Ride. When Democrats have to start playing nice again to garner votes to pass their agenda, then majority-minority BS flies right out of the window. That's what will happen in 2010. Its really not that hard to understand.

Doubt it. It appears, much like the last election, that the secret weapon for the Dems are the nut jobs of the right wing:

I DO think the time is fast approaching where the Democrats need to address the deficit. Now is not quite the time (in spite of the pressure they are under to do so) but as the economy recovers, it IS an issue that will need to be addressed.

Ken
Pretty much agree with you completely on this one Ken.

I understand that, however some have gone beyond that and are suggesting the GOP will be in the majority. Anyway regardless if someone thinks it will be a few seat gain and just be enough to mix things up or if someone thinks the gains will be large and perhaps have an impact on majority/ minority status, I'm simply just asking for people to back up their claims with actual predictions and mentioning specific seats.

I guess that's why she took her kids out of school for the day to go there...so they could see mom make that silly statement that she didn't really mean.
