Principal Michelle Zundel said a family requested the tree be taken down because it is a religious symbol and it made their children uncomfortable being around it.

Me thinks the Principal is a liar. Funny she does not tell us WHO the family was that made this request. I think she is a closet Republican and just wants to stir trouble up.

Or not.
It is a Holiday Tree- or a New Year Tree as people in the old USSR called it.

i'll bet the kids of those parents are more uncomfortable around them than around a darn tree and probably a little embarassed too.

The real crime is the fact that they had a tree up even before thanksgiving break.
And contrary to the title of the thread, she wasn't FORCED. It was 100% her choice and she admits she didn't have to do it. This is pretty much all on her.

What hAs America BECOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too many races, too many religions, and too many radical loons are changing
the America way!
It's been that way since the Constitution has been written!
It is all very sad...i thought all Americans loved Christmas!
The way i see it is if you don't like what you see, then get the f$%*
out and let the rest enjoy celebration!

No one's stopping anyone from celebrating however he or she pleases. The school is not an individual. If it's a public school, there really shouldn't be an endorsement of any religious holidays.
