The environment DOES concern me. I just want rational solutions for REAL problems. The global warming cult would have us spewing sulfer dioxide into the atmosphere and covering deserts in plastic sheets to "combat" global warming.

This is the problem with bad science. Erroneous conclusions and thus solutions are created by false and misleading data. The result- ill concieved and often detrimental "soultions". I, for one, do not want these left wing nut jobs damaging the environment in the name of a non-existent problem.

The real issue here is that the cult of "global warming" is the new route to redistribution of world wealth and socialism. Socialism, when presented factually to the electorate, is unpalatable, therefore the left has repackaged environmentalism as a means of achieving goals. Wake up.

Yep - that's the only solution for this one. I've had enough and finally done the same.

Another well-earned spot on my ignore list.

Yes, I know the history of the auto. The American automobile industry was once a great source of excitement and pride for most Americans. Then you people came along and more and more of the gullible started to listen. You destroyed a once great industry and bright future for millions of Americans in the process.

That anyone, let alone enough people to allow for this to happen, would take your nonsense seriously does not bode well for our country's future.

What people came along and ruined what? You do not even have any idea of the context in which I speak about the auto industry. You should ignore my posts as it seems your responses are not cohesive and do not address the issue they I raised.

You have plenty of opportunities to provide context, to provide sources to your claims that are scientific and not speculative. You however sickofnyc, never do. Why is that? Is it because you are above us? Is it because you believe yourself so properly informed that you can not be bothered with providing the evidence you claim you have.

You have admitted many times the basis of your position and in the process, due to your strong adherence to your position, are unwilling to consider anything that might question the authority to which you believe it draws. Because of this, you resort to fallacious responses because if you truly were to approach issues in a manner objectively, it may lead to your position losing value, losing strength in its attempt to enforce its will and this can not happen, because your position must rise above all else, it must win even if it is lacking support. You see, for you...

The end justifies the means. It is at the heart of every emotional position.

i think we all are starting to understand what this global warming issue actually is:

from march before the G20
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Group of 20 nations meeting next week is a "make or break event" for the global markets, investor George Soros said on Wednesday.

"Unless it comes up with practical measures to support the countries at the periphery of the global financial system, markets are going to suffer another sinking spell just as they did on February 10, 2009, when the authorities failed to produce practical measures to recapitalize the United States banking system," Soros said in testimony to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Soros said President Barack Obama could help make the G20 meeting a success by raising a possible solution that would involve increasing the amount that developing countries -- from Eastern Europe to Africa -- can effectively borrow from the International Monetary Fund.

The urgent task of re-inflating the global economy has to be carried out mainly by the IMF, "imperfect and beleaguered as it is, because it is the only institution available," Soros said.

this week:
The $10 billion a year proposed by rich nations to help the poor adapt to climate change is “not sufficient” and the gap between what’s offered and what’s needed could wreck the Copenhagen climate conference, American billionaire George Soros said Thursday…
Soros, one in a line of international notables visiting the 192-nation Copenhagen meeting, told reporters he had developed a partial solution on funding. The investor-philanthropist suggested shifting some International Monetary Fund resources from providing liquidity to stressed global financial systems to a new mission of financing projects in developing countries for clean energy and adapting to climate change. About $100 billion in a one-time infusion could be generated, said Soros, a major supporter of causes in the developing world. But he acknowledged a major roadblock in Washington.
“It is possible to substantially increase the amount available to fight global warming in the developing world,” he said. “All that is lacking is the political will. Unfortunately the political will will be difficult to gather because of the mere fact that it requires congressional approval in the United States.” Soros said he had “informal discussions” with Obama administration officials and they recognized the difficulty of getting congressional approval. But he said the issue was too important to sweep aside.

it doesn't take a genius to connect the dots and see this isn't about global warming at all......
