I was surprised by the content of O's speech, and thought he made some good comments (offset by some things he could have left unsaid), but overall pretty good. He touched on some points that he previously has been criticized for ignoring (e.g. dissidents in oppressive regimes).
And I thought he made a good case for the need and justification for war. There didn't seem to be all that apologizing for America that he's done in the past.
I noticed a number of people in the audience nodded at various points - not sure if it was in agreement, or they were falling asleep.
He did get some enthusiastic applause. Not sure that's a good sign, coming from socialists.
