Both groups have flawed ideologies

One is extreme social conservatism

The other is based on the '' harm principle '' and the '' live and let live '' principle ( except of course if it's conservative )

I am socially liberal on a "everyone deserves the same chance to succeed" basis and a socialist because I believe the government should make that possible. I also am a liberal in that I believe capitalism and a free market do maximize human economic progress but conservative supported monopoly and crony capitalism do not. The conservatives support military supply monopolies, uncontrollable huge banks and union breaking terrorism.

I support people. That is why I am an economic socialist and a die hard liberal.

Yes, it amazes me how leftist see conservatives compared to how we really are..They take a handful and apply that to all of us...

Nita
And even there's it's a bit problematic ...

Social conservatism has been hijacked by the Religious Right ( since social conservatives can be Atheist , Agnostic , Jew , Deist , Muslim , Pagan or Christian ) and while many of them are 'socially conservative' it's only in 'lip service' and in practice they act like social liberals ( having sex outside of marriage and what not ) and the Religious Right hijacked Paleo Conservatism turning it Neo Conservative on one hand and on the other hand destroying Christianity

They destroyed social conservatism , paleo conservatism and Christianity

Look at these Christian heresies --- The Museum of Idolatry

Many of them are either radical or far too liberal and that website highlights this recurring fact and how balanced conservatism doesn't seem to pop up

Only now are Paleo Conservatives and the Intelectual Protestants coming back

If you don't believe me read this --- http://www.amnation.com/vfr/archives/000412.html
AKA '' The NeoCons go Left ''

Try to find conservative intellectuals that are interested in a discussion.
I would also be interested if conservatives have any life philosophies.

Watch it!! My mother has been a conservative mostly all of her adult life,
and she was never selfish! She sure as hell never had an extravagant wealthy lifestyle!! She had to work her ass off, to help provide for her family.
Now I'm not a conservative, but I don't go around making **** up, that I don't really know anything about, like... conservatism!
You can disagree with them all you want, but don't you dare put everyone who is a conservative in the same category.

To be honest, I didn't even notice it. My typing is so bad that I often misspell words so have learned to ignore others faux pas.

Who think what's true? That there exists an axis going from libertarian to authoritarian? There are plenty of examples available. Is it the left-right thing that has your panties in a bunch? Fine. Let's make the axis vertical, and we'll put libertarian on the bottom and authoritarian on the top. Feel better? Aw...sorry to hurt your tender little feelings.
