*yawn* No surprise there... Europeans in general are snooty and hypocritical when it comes to social issues. Their facade of socialism and the "love your neighbor" attitude is a bunch of BS that only the liberal socialists here in the US actually buy into. The reality is, Europeans are quite rude and curt with "outsiders". They may not exhibit their discontent towards you in person, but you can bet they will behind your back to others, or to themselves.

You can choose not to believe that if you want, but until you actually live in Europe for a while you just won't understand.

Have you had personal experience living in Europe? And, if so, where? Europe has always been more progressive than the US when it comes to race issues.

All countries have racism in someway. That’s why I don’t understand Obama’s and the last administrations decision to not go to the world summit on racism. Things will never improve until we can sit down and talk about them. There will always be conflicting views but those who refuse to debate the issue all have something that they’re ashamed of or hiding.

There is racism everywhere. I don't understand these ideas that Europe is somehow a utopia where racism doesn't exist.

I believe that wherever MANKIND EXISTS there is going to be racism, no culture is immune to this.

No surprise. Europe was the first continent where racism originated.

This isn't news. Your next door neighbor can be racist and as un-European as they come. Although if you're livin' in the U.S., you should know that. People have been snooty and racist here when I tell them I'm Russian. I don't write off all Americans as being snooty and racist though. I'm an American myself lol.
And yes Europe has its fair share of racists. All of this is common knowledge..no group is immune, as someone said.

Our inheritance in America is European, and our history hinges on racism and racial oppression and exploitation. I don't think it's wise to paint Europe as bad guys. We're in no place to talk.
