I wish, no drugs are reimbursed in a number of ways. Medicaid, in general, dictates what it will pay for a given drug based on a formula. Medicare (through Medicare part D PDPs) negotiates pricing very aggressively with drug companies and is required to pay for 2 drugs in each therapuetic category resulting in very keen competition between manufacutrers. You clearly do no understand pharmacoeconomics, it is hardly a cpaitalistic system. Drug prices are very much controlled.
