I will pay for your health care IF I get to tell you how to run your life.

That includes what to eat, how much to exercise, whether or not you can drink and smoke, etc.

Chew on that.

Wha??

Yes...let's hurry up and pass this bill, right now....for services that will not come into being until 2014.

You must realize WHY they NEED to get it done now, don't you?

2010 is an election year. They didn't want the senators heading home for 2 weeks and getting an earful from their constituents.

Another dirty trick from Dirty Harry Reid.......take the votes on a weekend...phones are off, mailboxes are full, no one in the office to answer the phones...constituents can't call in and voice their outrage.

It is not right to leave them out to die just like that? They may be healthy one day and then be diagnosed with cancer the next. Brittney Murphy just dropped dead today.

I really don't like forcing people to do things. If people don't realize they need insurance there isn't much we can do about it. Many of the uninsured are young people who feel invincible and are willing to bet they will not get sick. Why should everyone else be punished because of their poor choices? As for people who can't afford insurance we can and do help them out it is called Medicaid.

I am not sure how to make you understand why it doesn't make sense to buy insurance before you need it if you haven't understood any of my previous examples, but I will give it one more go. Suppose you live in Florida on the water and you decide to forego flood insurance, a hurricane hits do you think you should be able to buy insurance after the fact?

Once again. As stated. I am very double minded. I see both sides. The liberal and conservative side. Although I lean more towards The People versus big business, I still can see a downfall to this.

Anyways, I am off for the night now. 3 finals tomorrow. Thank GOD tomorrow is the last day of school!

It really is criminal what the democrats are doing. To overhaul 1/6 th of our economy, designed completely by the democrats and voted and passed on a party line vote.

This is unprecedented divisive partisanship.

Here's the problem with Health care and it's pretty simple, it cost too much. This bill if the CBO analysis or HHS estimates are correct and still apply do nothing to help the people currently paying into the system, you know the ones that are actually paying into it and supporting it.... If you want to go by the HHS estimate costs will increase for those people. I haven't seen a single thing yet that suggests this will actually save people money which is the fundamental thing you need to do if you want to reform healthcare.

This bill therefore does nothing to reform health care costs which is what has to be done. It's not health care reform , it's health care entitlement. Those paying into the system will continue to see their costs rise and will fall into the same boat eventually as those not paying into the system and be unable to afford it anymore.

I suspect when you graduate and get away from the influence of left leaning professors and start working for big business and pay taxes you will become more conservative.

Good luck on your exams.

4 years in school, 4 years in the real world to "unlearn" what they taught you in school. Another 10 years to learn how things really work.
