I have heard on the evening news that there are at least 13 Reps. that want sweetheart deals for their states or they are threatening to withdraw their supporting votes.

So this is supposed to be about healthcare right?

Given recent performances the Obama administration it will likely "empty the Treasury" to buy these votes.

that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

But wait, didn't Obama say if we didn't pass healthcare the nation would go bankrupt? Seems he may bankrupt it just to buy the votes.

It's a historic day. I predict that we'll look back on this date in the future and wonder how people could have been against expanding health care access.
And I predict that you are dead wrong on this subject, although I generally value your opinion. You and all the rest have been sold a lie, and it will come to pass that you, not us, will be looking back on this day with a look of disdain on your face. Now, just for the sake of argument, can you tell me just how this qualifies as a wonderous advancement in healthcare. The program will admittedly not be able to provide coverage for anywhere near all the Americans who need coverage. Then, let's add this into the equation. In this bill, all Americans are required to "buy" insurance. Now, there are ways out of this. If you are too poor, you can get out of buying coverage. OK, now tell me how this program has helped people. The general reason most people don't have insurance is they can't afford it. And now you have legislation that is supposed to help people, but all it really does is "force" people to buy insurance. And for those who can't afford it, they still won't have insurance. So this bill essentially does nothing but strengthen government controls on our lives. Nothing real is being accomplished here. It's a joke man, a complete joke, and you fell for it. Happy Holidays!

PS. Also keep this in mind. The majority are not for this bill. If you don't know that yet, you haven't been listening. This government has completely stepped out of bounds and passed legislation most of us don't want. So if you are happy about this, that is wonderful. But just know this government is running completely contradictory to how it should be running. This may be a historic event, but it's more like Chernobyl than D-Day.
