Do you think America would be more accepting of a woman President or a black President if those were the only two choices? What do you think and why.

The US will have a black President and a woman President in our lifetimes. Might even have a black woman President.

But unless things radically change in the next 20 years, that President will be a Republican.

I think both parties would elect a female or black to the presidency. Right now the republicans don't seem to have either running so we would have to give the early nod to the democrats. Especially with one of the two leading democratic candidates being a female and the other being black. It's possible we could see a Hillary/Obama ticket in 2008. And if Bush drags the republicans down any further Hillary/Obama could very well get elected. Heck we elected Carter.

Of the two choices, my vote would be for a black Prez. I don't think I'd have any problem with that if his policies were in line with my beliefs. As far as a woman Prez, no thanks.

I think area we should be ready, I don't think the previous 43 white men have proven that that they have any inherent capability lacking in others.

Elaborate? What, you think a bought of PMS is going to make her nuke a country or something? Perhaps we would finally get a break from testosterone ladened cowboy antics like sending thousands of barely out-of-high-school young men and women to be maimed and die for no real reason?

Most women and most blacks are to far to the left for me to vote for them. But if they were to move to the right that would be different......

And you aren't alone in middle America, which is EXACTLY why our first woman and black President is going to be a Republican. A moderate Republican, maybe, but a Republican nonetheless.

This is why the Democratic Party ought to take heed: If you make the mistake of nominating Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama for your Presidential nomination, you are only assuring 4 more years of a Republican in the White House.
