The first reporting of this story said a 23 year old Nigerian man tried to light a powdery substance, according to a senior US counter terrorism official. Two people noticed the attempt and a third person jumped on the man and subdued him. The man told investigators that he wanted to set off a bomb over the United States.
The White House a little slow today, due to it being Christmas, getting the MSM to change the story from attempted terrorist attack to lighting of a firecracker.
funny how one source mentions a potential AQ link and the other completely ignores it... what were the odds?
Listening to the europhiles around here, I was under the impression the Dutch do everything better than us.
Disappointed.
At least FOX picked up on the nefarious Nigerians terrorism connections.
Liberal media outlets don't like to use the descriptor "terrorist" unless applying it to tax protestors.
amazing that msnbc actually printed the part about a potential terrorism incident. Must've been the new guy that couldn't get Christmas off...

I worked with some Dutch military while in Sarajevo and for the most part they were a bunch of blue haired freaks (literally had their hair dyed blue), but there were a couple of good ones. They mostly worked in intelligence, though.

Incident on transatlantic jet 'may have been attack'
Passengers on Flight 253 are being questioned
An incident on an airliner arriving in the US city of Detroit from the Netherlands may have been an attempted attack, American media reports say. An official said the incident, in which firecrackers were initially said to have been set off, had been an attempt by a passenger to blow up the plane.
Early indications are that the suspect said he was acting of behalf of al-Qaeda, a police source told AP.
Panic ensued aboard the Airbus 330 and several people were slightly hurt.
The White House says President Barack Obama is monitoring the situation.
The president "instructed that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel", spokesman Bill Burton told reporters.
The identity of the suspect is unclear. Some media reports media suggest he is Nigerian. Incident on transatlantic jet 'may have been attack'
It was a failed terrorist attack. The point of origin being Amsterdam would indicate more than a lapse in security but a penetration of same by AQ. The muslim infestation of Europe continues.
What a bunch of pap. Gotta love Fake News. Tell me, will they "inadvertently" add their own footage again?
Maybe you can read the linked stories before commenting like a partisan hack.
