As much as I think Obama is a disaster and don't like many of his counter-terrorism policies, this attempted plot can not be blamed on him or his admin. As was said with the 9/11 warning, there are so many warnings and so many of them are vague that you can only act on some of them and have to use the intelligence and judgment you have. I'm glad the Obama admin is being clear that they consider this an act of terror.
So he reported it to the US Embassy in Nigeria? To whom? It sounds like he sent several texts. And here you are, blaming Obama. Everything else I have read about this guy says he was on the "watch" list, but not the "no-fly" list. Anyway, he boarded his plane in Nigeria, it was their repsonsibility to refuse him boarding if he was on a "no- fly" list.
Alleged jet attacker on one 'no fly' list, but not 2nd :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation (http://www.suntimes.com/news/nation/1959374,CST-NWS-jet27.article - broken link)
The man law enforcement officials identified as the suspect in Friday's attempted attack on a overseas flight as it approached Detroit, Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, is a Nigerian who was reportedly on a U.S. government terror watch list but did not appear on a "no-fly" list.
Do note that headline from the Sun-Times is wrong, he was on a watch list, not a no-fly list.
The younger Mutallab was not on any no-fly list when he flew from Nigeria to Detroit through Amsterdam, Rep. Pete King (R-L.I.) told the Daily News.
My mentality? Your "logic" is dizzying. You somehow think that the actions that occurred after-the-fact should have been used as grounds before-the-fact. That would require a stunning level of prescience. But hey, anything to blame PRESIDENT OBAMA for, right?
[MOD CUT] , is this unbelievable?
Obviously, clearly, they had grounds for putting him on the list. Any thinking sane person can see and understand that.
Do you really believe all they had was him throwing away a SIM card?
How utterly absurd.
It is clear that he deserved to be on the list, unless we are talking about terrorist sympathizers who are more concerned that he gets his "due process" and the reasons why he is put on the list is rock solid in concrete.
You must realize, or maybe you don't, that some people are put on the list just for the reason that they had associations or hang out with the wrong crowd.
The question is - how did he board that plane under obama's watch?

He got on the plane, in Nigeria, b/c he wasn't on a "no fly" list. Capiche?

I certainly hope we don't leave it to officials in places like Nigeria, Sudan, Yemen to make sure all those who are boarding planes for the US are cleared to be on them.

Are you now an expert on airline security worldwide?
By the right wing whack job's reasoning displayed here, 9/11 is all on Dubya.
