Back in December 2001, ONLY TWO MONTHS after 9/11, Richard Reid tried to shoe bomb a flight and GW Bush took SIX DAYS interrupt his Christmas vacation to respond, and then tried him in CIVILIAN COURT. Did any of the SCLM take Bush to task for this? Do you really need to ask?
Could someone please post links to the op-ed pieces taking Bush to task, by John Bolton, Dick Cheney, Jonah Goldberg, George Will, Tony Blankly, Charles Krauthammer, Fred Barnes, Rich Lowry, Mark Steyn, Michael Barone, Senator Tom Coburn, Rep King, Thomas Sowell, Dana Milbank, David Harsanyi, Karl Rove and all the others who have piped up criticizing Obama for taking THREE DAYS, to respond.
I realize that not all of those listed above are members of the "media" per se. But the SCLM gives every one of these d***he-bags all the ink they want to spew their hatred of all things Obama.
I wish there were an HONEST person on the right on this forum who would read this, and respond HONESTLY about why they continue to spout their lies about the SCLM, while posting threads on here that echo what their masters at the RNC send them to post on here.

Of course they aren't liberal. The main priority of the news media is to maintain financial relationships with their advertisers, and, if anything, that gives them to a more conservative slant.
The media is owned by a handful of moguls. Of course it's biased. Why do you think Congress got in such a tizzy when we had the digital switch...postponing the switchover and practically handing people coupons to get the gizmo to hook up to their TV's ?
Geeze people, wake up. The media is shaping your minds whether you know it or not.

It is no secret that privately owned media companies will always have an agenda of their own, such is the nature of the business.
The biggest example that comes to mind is MSNBC and General Electric. Some of you may have heard of Dabhol power plant in India? (largest in the world, very expensive) It was a joint venture between Enron and GE. The only problem was they needed natural gas to power it, which meant they needed a pipeline through Afghanistan. That was in the late 90s. Notice how MSNBC has been one of the biggest contenders for ending war in Iraq and increasing our efforts in Afghanistan? GE put a lot of money into India's power infrastructure, would be a shame for all those new natural gas plants to without their fuel or for GE to go the way of Enron....
That being said, MSNBC is only Liberal-aligning when it suits them, or at least, that is how it used to be. MSNBC has made a significant effort to put out a left-wing image, and that effort is reflected in their political commentary and censorship.
However, it is really about how we perceive what we are seeing; obviously if you are a right winger you would feel the media has a Liberal slant, and if you are a left winger you believe the media as a Conservative slant. On this forum, most left wingers believe to be outnumbered, while right wingers believe themselves to be outnumbered. Believing the enemy to have superior numbers or significant advantages is key to providing a strong argument.

I don't know most print media like NY Times, LA Times, SF Chronicle, Newsweek, Time still seem to have a liberal slant. While the Wall Street Journal is fairly conservative. I think CNN does a pretty good job of being objective. And it's no secret FOX leans right and MSNBC is pretty in bed with the far left.
The major network news outlets also seem to be pretty fairly moderated.
For all those names you mentioned, just as many left winger could be named. That because all of these writers are opinion writers, not news reporters.
Yes, the mainstream media is incredibly liberal. Why do you suppose CNN didn't report the Christian/Newsom murder where a white couple was tortured and killed by blacks, yet they did report the WV incident were a black woman claimed to have been tortured by whites, not killed, and then later recanted her story as false testimony! To me CNN is just a liberal as the other mainstream media sources. There are dozens of other such incidents like this I am aware of, as well. The liberal media also won't tell you about a recent incident in Philly where black students attacked 30 Asian students based on race or that in Denver 20something white victims were attacked by racially motivated blacks.
The reason is simple: If people knew that those claiming to be victims where actually those who are responsible for victimizing others, the liberals would lose a potent weapon. The liberals must rely on misinformation and keep access to the facts restricted in order to further their agenda. Why do you suppose liberals have recently been calling for a bailout of the mainstream media when Fox seems to be doing just fine? They want their propaganda machine to continue churning out BS, because they are afraid if the media is forced to compete with FOX they will have to tell the truth.
