Oh, I don't know. I don't live in Roseville. Sorry if my post implied that I did. I live in Illinois.

There were no burglaries in any of the neighborhoods I lived in growing up. I've described my neighborhoods. What kind of neighborhood did you live in?

I didn't hear anyone say that the old days were good for everyone. However, I would not leave my door unlocked these days even when I'm home.

Not a ton, but some, yes. It was generally safe. We kids were pretty much free to just roam around w/o having a parent accompany us by the time we were school age; my brother and I took the bus downtown by the time we were in Jr. High (12 yrs old).

I think there may have been more in your neighborhood too than you were aware of as a kid.

Yep. I don't know how early he came but it was well before we woke up! I hate to give away my age but you know you are old when you talk about the milkman and pinball machines!

Well, whether you believe in them or not, the "good old days" did exist - and were better in many respects. I didn't say all, but many.

This kind of remark, in every case I can think of, is made by left-leaning people trying to put a happy face on the sorry state of affairs that surrounds us today. Deep down, I don't think you believe it any more than I do. It's a mandatory political stance taken by "progressives".
