Teen charged with making bomb with sparklers | theadvertiser.com | The Advertiser+
This teenager made pipe bombs from instructions he found online using sparklers. He then bragged about it at a fireworks stand and even showed off the bombs. He didn't know the person he was showing this to was on the bomb squad.

Thank goodness, kids don't know how to keep their mouths shut. They also don't know much about snow in my state. A couple of bright bulbs burglarized a house then walked home in deep snow. LOL But seriously, I wish there was a way to keep bomb building instructions off the internet, but that won't happen, I know.

Anything that produces a reaction can be made into some sort of bomb.

It's amazing what you can do with a tennis ball and match heads, or mentos and diet cola.

One thing you never do is brag about it to strangers, that's a nasty lesson learned the hard way.

I made "bombs" and blew up parts of the desert in Tucson, prior to the internet.

Further, everybody found out that after sitting at the table doing shots that you could take a lighter to a bottle of Everclear and it would flame up. do you know why? Because, between the ages of 11 and 22, your brain disappears.

Blowing crap up is a right of passage.

You're right. Building bombs really isn't new for kids. Someone in my high school back in the 50s lost his hand doing just that.
