Back in early May, James Carville gleefully published a book entitled 40 More Years: How the Democrats Will Rule the Next Generation.
In part, an extended rant against George W. Bush and his administration, it also purported to show that “the Republicans are going to keep getting spanked again and again for forty more years because we’re right and they’re wrong, and Americans know it.”
Some will, indeed, get spanked — but not the party that James Carville had in mind. So much for the dreams of the ragin’ Cajun.
The real mystery is how this happened — for it owes nothing whatsoever to the moxie of the Republicans. Of course, they were canny enough to get on board. But they intiated nothing.
No, their benefactors were Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama.
Do you like royalty? Do you like being ruled, and I mean RULED by a party? Read the piece, it's good. I don't want to be ruled by anyone, either party.
Considering nobody wants to call himself a Republican now, perhaps they should rename it the "stealth party".
Call it whatever in the hell you want to call it, I think that the Ragin' Cajun may be able to save control for the people in the little group that have control now but I am not sure how much influence he has with them. Not enough, I fear.
Don't be so sure. The Repubs have plenty of time to screw up. Remember what happened in the last mid-term election of the previous Democratic administration.

I see alot of people calling themselves Republican, you must not be paying attention. The problem is that the Republican perty has become as liberal & is having an identity crisis. Most of them should just defect to the Democratic party & let a few conservatives in.
Thats why we need a viable third party. Our two party system no longer really gives us any choice. Its tax & spend or tax & spend. Pick whoever you want all they seek is to raise money for their pet projects, only difference being the projects & neither is helping the tax payer.

Liberal? I don't think so. Don't confuse "liberal" with "spendthrift". It takes a lot more than spending like a drunken sailor to be liberal.
