The advantage in a Right to Work state is (as one example), when a call for bids goes out to tradespeople, EVERY company - Union or not, can bid for the job.

Here it is commonplace to see a major building (high rise office building for example) under construction with both Union and Non Union trades building the project.

Large unions can only function as well as their elected management but most people in unions never get involved or vote so they take the idiots elected by default.

Just remember that when you say you hate unions you are also saying in a very direct manner that you hate America because that's what we are....... a union.
Let me start by saying your very last statement is so ridiculous it's not worth putting in the effort to respond to it.

Unions served a purpose in the very beginning when many employers were always breaking the laws and putting employees in danger. But in this modern world they are nothing more than a business making money period.

I can only speak from my indirect experience with unions. When I worked in automotive manufacturing one of our plants voted in the UAW. I talked to a couple friends there and they told me they got less benefits, lower pay than the non union plants and they brought in a bunch of extra workers that weren't even needed. They said it was the biggest mistake they have every made.

I guess the only other thing I can say is.
I'm a man, and a like a real man I make my OWN decisions and I'm not afraid to work my $#& off to get ahead. I guess not everyone can say that.

You laughed at one of the posters above you, now it's my turn to laugh at your naive statement that "in the very beginning many employers were always breaking the laws and putting employees in danger." Guess what, in the very beginning they didn't have safety laws in place to break. Employers didn't care if you got killed on the job, they'd just replace you. Safety laws came about thanks to the unions. One of the first labor unions in this country was started back in 1877 in Philadelphia and by 1886 the Knights of Labor had 702,000 members. The first nation wide strike happened in 1877 with railroad workers. You can thank a union member for every hard-earned work place benefit and safety law you enjoy.

Complete ignorance of the history of their country is one reason some are against unions.....


Maybe they think this country would be better off if we disolved the UNITED States

The unions of the late 1800's and early 1900's had a place and did good things. The unions of today are killing us. They need to be disbanded. Just look at the teachers unions of NY. A total scam. The police unions on LI are a racket. Not to mention the hospital unions who would rather have small community hospitals shut down than take a reasonable pay raise.

Unions aren't going anywhere but you're going to see them shift their focus away from pushing for benefits to job-based learning. You're going to see unions initiating cooperative internship programs with high schools and colleges to fill the demand for increasingly more complex jobs.They'll also be forming closer ties/cooperation between management and labor like what has been happening in the auto industry over the past few years.
