Absolutely correct! I should have clarified that point. My understanding is that most bankruptcies are due to medical crises, and not buying the "latest and greatest" of consumerism.
I don't know that this is accurate. From what I understand, about 30% of people filing for bancruptcy protection cite medical expenses as the reason. Someone (and I have to admit that I don't recall who) started the idea that it was "most" by lumping in everyone who had medical bills that were higher than about 10% of their household income. So if the family declaring bancruptcy had an annual salary of $75k, a hospital bill of $10k, and a new car that cost $25,000, and credit card debt of $50k, they are being counted as having gone bancrupt due to medical expenses.
Did you really just say that? Oxy is illegal when obtained without a prescription so it WAS an illegal drug at the time and he had the choice to not get addicted.
No, no, no! It's only illegal if "THEY" do it. "They" being those pesky pinko commie liberals.
a) Limbaugh wasn't ill
b) he spent a couple of days in a hospital
c) he's already making comments that his experience "proves" America doesn't need health care reform
Limbaugh said. “Based on what happened here to me, I don't think there's one thing wrong with the American health care system. It is working just fine, just dandy."
Intentionally faking it or not, he's making foolish statements in support of his biased agenda.
The most ridiculous thing about his claim....and correct if I am wrong....but doesn't Hawaii have a "socialist" type health care program and has since the 70's. Wouldn't this be Rush endorsing that kind of program?
I don't like the man but I would hope he didn't fake his heart attack. As has been mentioned above, people do go to hospital emergency rooms when experiencing chest pains and quite often those turn out to be unrelated to heart trouble. I'd rather see people, Limbaugh, go to a hospital, get checked out, and find out it is not a heart-related than to have them ignore it and die of a heart attack.
