We are, along with many other countries, fighting this war! We, as do all those countries, have to protect ourselves as best we can. While collectively working on a solution, which may take generations to achieve. Profiling ethnic groups in an attempt at protection, I feel would do more harm than good. Alienating people who are fighting against terrorism just as we are, will not help the overall objective.

Well, you're right, sort of. I didn't ignore the rest of your post but I just used it as a point of entry into the debate. For that I apologize if any offense was taken. (also sent as personal msg.).

We need and should have already been profiling every single Muslim age 10 to 70, not 18-29.

Stop with the crazy political correctness, it needs to end.

Facts provide that we need to do this and do it right now.

I support profiling. When you're not doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about other than some minor inconvenience.

Again, tell me what a Muslim looks like? You do know that Muslims come from the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, North, East, and West Africa? A Muslim could be pretty much anyone of a non-White background(which I suspect is the point anyway, but I digress...). Do you mean to profile Arabs? You must know that not all Arabs are Muslims and not all Muslims are Arabs.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Prejudice is a very hard thing to overcome in an individual. That takes generations as well.

There is a difference between prejudice and discernment.
One must have at least a grain of analytical discernment to know the difference.
For all you Bush/ Cheney haters there is one absolute fact you can ponder. The current bomber that potentially could have killed over 200 innocent people is now getting a defense of his civil rights and no forthcoming information that might stop other innocents from being killed. He will probably cost the taxpayer over a million beffore he gets a sentence and he has been successful in closing the Yemen embassy. Another chicken sh.t call by Obama et al.
Under Bush Cheney, he might be gettng his ass kicked, a little water up his nose, but his girlish dupe would be spilling his guts.

You apparently missed the last half of Bush's last term when they no longer did what you're suggesting because Bush knew it was wrong and no longer followed Cheney's direction.

A significant amount of Muslims (I believe I saw a statistic that said 10%) have militant sympathies. This is a large enough problem that anybody who is known to be a Muslim or who comes from a Muslim majority country is suspect. While I respect the rights of the individual, I realize that a lot of these people are our enemies and we must be on guard against them.
