Think that device can beat a canine panty sniffer?

We should use everything at our disposal to weed out terrorists... including profiling. Profiling isn't only about looking at someone's outward appearance, it also encompasses behavioral profiling. What is their religious background? Where has this person visited in the past year? Are they traveling solo? How did they pay for their ticket? Did they check luggage?

Dogs, scanners, metal detectors too. Do it all. Screw those nutballs.

Many business flyers travel solo. Since the airlines now charge for checked luggage and more people carry their luggage on, almost everyone would be suspect. Dogs? You've got to be kidding!

Why not dogs? they have a keener sense of smell than we do. If they can be trained to sniff and find drugs they can be trained to sniff and find liquid, powder etc type of explosives

I wonder what people will say when another international flight is bombed and goes down with all aboard (men, women, children, infants) dead...

You can absolutely count on this happening - Al Queda has already tested our defenses and found the holes and will start downing jets at a time of their choosing...

They target airlines because most people fly these days and can relate to it - plus when the plane goes down the death toll is usually 100% - and the combination strikes terror into the civilian population...

I personally think very little will change in this country until the next terror attack(s) that result in a high U.S. civilian death toll... seems we don't react when a few hundred are threatened or killed - the death toll has to be in the thousands or higher for the public to pay attention...

Take 9/11 for example - most of the country has moved-on and doesn't even give it a second thought any longer.

Many people are afraid of dogs, especially children. No one would want to travel if they had to face a pack of snarling dogs before getting on a plane.

Packs of snarling dogs? Come on now. Bomb (&/or chemical/plastics) sniffing dogs are the MOST well trained dogs. They don't attack when they get a hit, they sit in front of the target.
