Either way, with the interconnected nature of weather, one change will spawn hundreds of others. The severity of the changes and the impact to man have not even begun in earnest yet

And the fighting for sea rights between Russia/U.S./Canada has not kicked off just yet. Just let oil be discovered in these newly created shipping lanes in the Arctic (it will) and you will see the disputes for rights to drilling follow closely behind.

Just one of millions of changes to look forward to.
Global warming is not the same as anthropogenically caused climate change. There is no credible evidence that recent climate changes have anything to do with human actions.

Did you know the first navigation of the northwest passage took place about 1903 (im going from memory). This is a feat that is hard to replicate to this day. How does that fit into your rapid ice melt?

The thing you or anyone else has to understand about the records for ice coverage at the Nortth Pole is the only accurate records we have go back to 1979 when the first satellites made it available. What was it in 1940? How about when the first navigation of the Northwest passage was made?

Correct. Explain also why-

1. There are tropical plant and animal fossils in Antartica that post date continental drift.

2. There are coal and oil deposits above the arctic circle

3. The average temperature today is the same as before the "Little Ice Age" beginning in 1325

4. There is fossil evidence of cylical cooling and warming phases every 10,000 years that pre-date the industrail age, or for that matter man.

Liberals tend to be a little myopic regarding the fossil record, but love to look at the "long term" temperature record (50 years), which is a blink of an eye in geological time and is nearly meaningless.

With the current cooling phase, it must be time to start buring a ton of fossil fuels to warm up the environment. You see, this is the problem with academic fraud; erroneous data and conclusions can come back to bite you in the ass.

A lot of people are waking up to this C02 fraud because the very foundation of man made global warming .. or climate change ... is based on C02 causing it. The raw, indisputable evidence shows the exact opposite, which is why the fraudsters refuse to debate the matter ... THEY KNOW THEY ARE LYING.

For those hangers on who refuse to learn or debate the facts, they will continue to believe that polar bears can't swim. You cannot argue with such stupidity.

Ignorance of the facts, and refusal to look at facts are two entirely different afflictions ... the first can be corrected with education, the second is a hopeless condition that no amount of evidence or argument can cure.

First of all. Al Gore and his ilk have manipulated the figures as any meterologist will tell you. Secondly, Al Gore's theory is that carbon dioxide causes global warming when IF THE TRUTH BE TOLD increased carbon dioxide is simply a by-product of the normal warming cycles-- prior to cooling cycles-- the world has gone through for centuries. When the atmosphere is warmer there is more carbon dioxide in the air. There is NO SUCH THING as MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING. Prior to the industrial revolution we have had just as warm if not WARMER cycles than we have had recently. Prior to that Greenland was once ideal for farming -- very green and warm. Now it winter year round. For lots of unbiased scientific studies go to globalwarminghoax.com

The carbon tax is just another scam the government elites have dreamed up to take further advantage of Gullible Stupid Obedient Americans and separate them from their money. It is a BIG FAT LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. DON'T BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND!

One - that is how monopolist corporations operate. They have no reason to tell or recognize the truth and every reason to lie to prevent any new competition to become developed. The current fossil fuel energy suppliers have always opposed any alternative to burning their products and are unlikely to change.

Two - I have studies the physics, chemistry and geology involved, including reports on the ice cores, an have concluded that man made emissions have delayed or precluded a return of conditions closer to 10,000 years ago. The emissions have created a change in the heat retention capacity of the troposphere which has had the effect of a global warming and all the phenomena associated with the warming. I do not believe this warming will even be slowed by completely stopping CO2 emissions because the atmospheric CO2 concentration is sufficient to insulate the Earth and this effect will not be diminished until the CO2 concentration is lowered by the effects of natural CO2 sinks. I am not entirely certain that removal will change the warming at all. We may have passed the tipping point and be headed for a much warmer planet for a geologically significant time.

I am certain humans will survive this change but I am less certain of the fate of the countless billions of people that do not have the wealth or technology to keep their civilizations intact throughout the transition to a permanently warmer Earth.

DAVID ROSE: The mini ice age starts here | Mail Online

"According to the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado, Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007 – and even the most committed global warming activists do not dispute this."

You're right, you do have a dumb question.

Obviously you aren't interested in the evidence, but for those who are, here is a link to a discussion of some of the scientific evidence for global warming:

Evidence of a Warming Earth - The Woods Hole Research Center (http://www.whrc.org/resources/online_publications/warming_earth/scientific_evidence.htm - broken link)

If Earth's recent "warming" period is man made, then explain why the ice at the poles on Mars has been melting. It ust be due to the "rovers" we sent there on a rocket!!!! (he said sarcastically)

Those are the "cold" facts. What the scientists are telling us is that global warming will, ironically, have the opposite effect. The warming of the ocean currents that generate global weather patterns will cause much harsher (and colder) winters and drought conditions in the temperate zone resulting in a dramatic decrease in the world's food production. The ultimate consequence of global warming will be mass population displacement and starvation.
