I am confused on this global warming issue. It was 5 degrees here in my part of KY last night. Had a major ice storm last year about this time. We have had four seasons here for as long as I can remember. Sometimes above normal temps and other times, normal or below temps. Shouldn't it be getting WARMER here all the time? I have a simple theory as to why we are still having four seasons and temps going up and down like normal...

GLOBAL WARMING DOESN'T EXIST!!!

the point is that your theory is in fact too "simple". Global warming is something that happens over time, decades, and even hundreds and thousands of years. Not one year.....explain why polar cap ice is melting?

no, it shouldn't. Why do we need a new one of these threads every day? The one from yesterday wasn't enough? You're right about one thing - it is a dumb question. If you wanted a real answer you'd do some real research, not ask your question on this forum.

Sure, as soon as you explain why the glaciers that made Yosemite melted.(Hint, there were no SUVs, factories or industry then, but they still melted)

Of course its simple, and for most deniers, they have to have it this way. In fact, for most deniers, the issue is not at all scientific but political. They feel they can better understand it this way, its more comfortable discussing politics for them

There is a difference between climate and weather. Some areas will experience it sooner and more rapidly than others due to many factors including microclimates. For example, in Colorado we are below normal for this time of year, yet the trend from the Colorado Rockies all the way into Canada is warming. That is why the pine beetle, has taken hold. It just doesn't get cold enough even in Alberta Canada to kill them off. Deforestation will follow leaving parts of the Rockies simply barren compounding global warming. You can look at old USDA planting/hardiness zone maps and see how the zones have changed. For example in 1990, KY was in hardiness zone 6, now it is almost all in zone 7.

well you said it yourself it happens over time and the real statistics say that there were times when the earth was warmer during mid-evil times

the carbon tax was proposed to make money by the ones proposing it...why do you think all the 3rd world countries wouldn't vote yes and they made Obama look like an idiot when he was so sure that everyone would give into Al Gore's theory..hell we all know Al Gore invented the internet too...lol...whatever

Global Warming is a fraud...how can you make it ok to use your vehicle if u pay a tax to do so when u will still be polluting the planet and causing man made global warming...that doesn't make sense...it's all about money and as u see in the charts in my links we have begun a cooling period the last few years

A major portion of Global Warming has to do with more EXTREMES, which is basically what you seem to be currently experiencing. The overall average would be a bit higher, but you could have more extremely cold weather than you typically would have.

BINGO!!! Money is the root of the entire thing. Earth will change ON IT'S OWN, adapt, change again and on and on. And man cannot stop it.
