"I have been up to the Hill, and there are some honest staffers up there, and I did talk to a couple of them, and one of them told me just flat-out, “We have zero evidence that he’s even a citizen.”
MRS. RONDEAU: Really? A staffer?
MRS. HEMENWAY: Oh, yes. There are some very bright people up there, and some very patriotic people up there. But their bosses won’t do anything about it because they don’t want to go to their town hall or their next press event and have some left-wing reporter calling them a “birther.”

He didn't give a link to Homeland Security, he gave a link to some nutty website that linked to World net Daily. To be clear this is NOT Homeland security, but a group named Northeast Intelligence Network, who has a website named "homelandsecurity."
Quite a difference there.
Well, then.
Nevermind.
I thought something was amiss when my online search came up with RW websites only. The one thing I did learn that Homeland Security really is investigating are some tea party participants.

But definitely not birther conspiracies.
Homeland security would never waste their time on this garbage. But a group named The Northeast Intelligence Network with a website named "homeland security" will, you better believe it.
Well I see what your talking about but they have no polictical preference, only the best interest of the country. I'm thinking they are trying to lay the issue to rest. I'll be curious on what they come up with, if there is nothing out of line, they will report it. Since there reputation would be on the line if they reported false facts. The ppl who run this sound honorable so if they can put it to rest, that would be a good thing.

Spokesperson for LTC Lakin Mrs Hememway: "The original ‘birthers’ were the people who demanded John McCain’s birth certificate.” And it’s funny how all of a sudden that’s a pejorative. Well, they’re only criticizing themselves, because they were the ones who started raising “natural born Citizen” early on with McCain and his birth certificate."

That still doesn't lend them any more credibility. McCain was born on a US military base, effectively US soil.
It seems to have begun with a bunch of people who simply will not accept reality. I hardly think many of the present 'birthers' doubt McCain's citizenship...the base of followers has changed.
