Pelosi doesn't represent the whole country. Just try getting her attention as a constituent of a different district. She does run the House and therein, yes, it does matter what the rest of the country thinks. The rest of the country will need to vote in a majority of NOT democrats to replace Pelosi as that speaker.

The new speaker can then drop kick Pelosi and San Francisco to the back bench in the House. I'd prefer to put her in prison for the abuse of her privilege as Speaker. Or at least cut her off from botox. That ought to get her voted out of office....
