The word is "heifer", pronounced "heffer", and it means a young cow, and yes, it is often applied to fat women or sometimes to the woman with whom your man is messing around.

Saudi Arabia, for all its wealth, is still in its basic culture re women not much different than it was when goatherding was the main occupation.

I work with a couple of Muslim women with Master's Degrees. They wear the hijab, but you can see some of their hair. Again, there is not one Muslim culture. Islam is the religion--how it is interpreted depends upon the culture from whence they came, and some of them are just happy to be in the United States.

Yes, let's work on getting those Muslim women to wear too-tight spandex pants with belly shirts and flip-flops. Especially the heiferish ones.

interesting pulling the pants off girls in gym is not uncommon in K12, how will it go with head scarves.

Ok, you got me laughing out loud here.

And I suggest we get the Muslim men to start wearing their pants around their thighs with their underwear sticking out of the top. Because yeah, U.S. fashion trends are so much better than head scarves. <snort>

Yeah, I guess they're somehow "real"er because they insult each other? I dunno. But I must admit, "treacherous heffer" is one of the more interesting insults I've had directed my way. At least it gave me something to chuckle about today.

It does not have anything to do with hating "our" culture. There are several religions where women wear head coverings. I wore a mantilla on my head to mass until Vatican II said we didn't have to. Many Orthodox Jewish women cover their heads. In the south many Black women wear hats in Baptist churches. Catholic nuns often wear habits. None of that indicates a hatred of the US.

That muslim woman had every right in the world to wear a headscarf. There is every possibility that she was born in the US. Many US born Muslim women wear hijabs. It is part of their religion.
