Yes but now they have to reconcile them into one bill. The bills passed in each chamber were very different. Now they have to negotiate to come up with one bill.

Never deemed Obama the Messiah, I've even openly disagreed with him on some subjects. Nice try, though

Americans are always cynical about their government. Living with such a negative mindset is not healthy for society.

Holy cow, I am explaining to you on a state by state basis the motivation for retirements and their likely outcome and you come up with this. You clearly have no understanding of American politics.

You said that the Senate has accomplished "nothing".

If he had run he would have lost to the Republican. The Ct. AG who is a Dem is liekly to win the seat.

Now as for Palin she was being sued left and right. Alaska has this strange law that essentially anyone can bring suit against the Governor. She had to pay for defense against any and all suits, they all lost but cost her a fortune. She was driven from office in a concerted effort by her foes.
There's an unemployed sheriff in Alaska who says Palin had a lot worse things going on then being "sued".

I don't often agree with you Roy, but I think you are right about this...even on the OP's chart.
Where we differ would be the reason for this change...
I think it's because of the economy. If unemployment improves, you'll see Obama's numbers rise...including which direction the "independents" lean.
Just my opinion...stay warm everyone...

They haven't, the bill cannot be signed into law it's current form.

AP sources: Obama backs high-end health plan tax - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_health_care_overhaul - broken link)

"Differences include whom to tax, how many people to cover, how to restrict taxpayer funding for abortion and whether illegal immigrants should be allowed to buy coverage in the new markets with their own money. The House bill covers about 36 million uninsured Americans over 10 years, costing more than $1 trillion, while the cheaper Senate bill covers about 31 million.
House Democrats are steeling themselves to abandon establishment of a new government insurance plan opposed by moderates in the Senate, but in return hope to get the Senate to rescind insurers' antitrust exemption, make subsidies more affordable and agree to establishment of national rather than state health insurance exchanges, among other things. Obama has signaled his support for the House position on the subsidies and other areas, aides said."

If you want free healthcare and that is what being and American is all about to you, I seriously suggest joining the military branch of your choice. If you want socialism, jump right in, don't jaw and dabble.

But then again, I feel, every citizen of the USA must serve in the military a minimum of 3 years @ 18 yo. Just like they force public or private schools on the citizens Not just the draft, but mandatory. We can call it part of the education a child needs. After you serve your 3 you can get out, or you can stay unless you get kicked out. Then you can go off to college or open a business or go work for someone in the private sector.

On the flip side, it's apalling how many people embrace communism-light, disguised once again as compassion.
As long as you're in a certain group, you get the goodies.
Otherwise, forget compassion.

Surely some Republican SOMEWHERE sees this???
There's no such thing as a moderate conservative. Conservatives have Founders Principles.

The moderate Republicans, OTOH, such as W, Big Denny Hastert, Dumb Bill Frist, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Arlan Spectre (oh wait, he flipped...again), Lindsey Grahamnesty, Orrin Hatch, John McCain, Dick Lugar, Norm Coleman, Trent Lott, Chuck Hagel, Judd Gregg, Mike Steele, etc. etc. were/are all moderate. Fat lot of good they have done, they just move left only more slowly.

Palin, Beck (not a republican, BTW), and others you probably consider ultra rightists are guilty only of telling the truth. Beck has revealed a great deal about the communist roots of the current administration.

Palin was over-managed by a bunch of boobs in the 2008 election. Why she let that happen is beyond me, perhaps you'd like to read her book and figure it out for yourself.
Sarah is hated IMO because she is real in a world of superficial dimwits such as Polosi. Nancy is a perfect poster child for the simple, the greedy, and the shallow.
I knew nothing about Polosi until she achieved Speakerhood. I watched her speak for about 10 seconds and asked my wife, "How did such a simpleton ever achieve such high office?"
Answer? She's from San Francisco.

McCain-Palin got whupped in 08 because 1.) McCain is just a D-lite; 2.) Palin should have headed the ticket; 3.) Control-freak campaign "expert" nincompoops did not let Sarah be Sarah; 4.) McCain was the wrong choice to begin with.
Romney and Ron Paul had more and better bona fides than John could muster in a month of Sundays.

I don't know what "rhetoric" you refer to, but stating the socialist-fascist-communist intentions of the democrat party is simply factual, it is hardly rhetoric since it's true.

Shouting down the opposition rather than debating ideas is the oldest Mob Rule method on the planet.
It does not result in the best--and worst--ideas being discussed intelligently, it leads only to tyranny.

Our founders knew this, conservatives know this.
