HELL NO!

We all know how the majority thinks. Some think they have rights over the minorities. Especially gays.

Legalize gay marriage and be done with it. The battle will not end. Ever!

This will be put to the vote and we will lose again, just like in California, Maine, and New York...

It wasn't put up for a vote in NY, failed in the State Senate. I actually think a ban would fail in D.C, but with that being said, rights should never be voted upon.

Highly unlikely. The Democratic Congress would have to approve this intervention, and I can't see that happening.

I don't get the republicans, they are so hypocritical on everything. I thought we lived in a republic, where we have representatives that vote on issues who we vote into office. So why is this issue up for vote, while we can't have a public vote on a public health care option that (not saying I want this, I think our republic style of gov't is ok) the majority supports according to polls. That would have more of an impact on their lives than gay marriage, but we can have a public referendum for gay rights that doesn't impact the majority of people, just the LGBT community, but we can't do a public referendum on public option that would impact everyone.

Not to mention the fact I don't think we've ever had a public referendum on someone elses right that doesn't impact your life or marriage what so ever. It boggles my mind sometimes the way these right wingers think or don't think..

Shouldn't that motion have been filed by the citizens of DC, if they wanted it, rather than imposed by congress?
