American is a nationality

African is ethnic origin

What's so difficult about that?

If you don't like the term, don't use it. Most of those who are complaining about calling someone AA refer to us by derogatory terms anyway.

It really bothers the anti American left that Beck is always dead on right.

Why is it so hard to understand that AA is NOT A RACE?

So now WHITE AMERICAN is a race all in it self?

Is NATIVE AMERICAN now a race by itself?

And if you are born in America and are black how can you be "African" American?

African is not ethnic origin. It is a broad sweeping generalization of PLACE of origin. What about white people from Africa, are they also African-American? How does that fit?

How many of these threads do we need?

Beck: ‘African-American is a bogus, PC, made-up term. I mean, that’s not a race.’

The term "African American"

Why must blacks call themselves African Americans?

Beck is an idiot.

And we have discussed the African American question ad nauseum on this forum and others.

Africa is a continent not a race Sorry

There is white people in Africa also should we consider them black

When people use the term African American it should only refer to a persons nationality not a persons race. It shouldnt imply that a person is black because there is white people from Africa but over time that is what it has implied and its wrong to do so

Whats so difficult about that?

The reason he is right, is because someone that is black, brought it to his attention and how they hate that term being use for them.
They are not African. They are Americans.
Pigmented American. How's that???
