This is fairly intetesting. I wonder if US car companies are taking advantage of the situation and exporting cars there.

China has overtaken the US to become the biggest car market in the world as government policy initiatives spur demand.

China sold more than 13.5m vehicles last year, the official Xinhua news agency said today, compared with 10.4m cars and light trucks sold in the US, the lowest level in 27 years.

GM has a plant in china that's doing well.

i guess this means we can expect gas prices to continue climbing?

That maybe true about gas prices, but also another good reason for us to leave the era of gasoline cars behind us.

I think China will really help US to become a producer once again. Soon they will buy whatever we can make.

why are they going to buy from the US when they can produce the same with dirt-cheap labor in their own country?

That's actually pretty scary. China will own the world at the rate they are growing in the industrial marketplace and also as the banker to the world.

Not surprising at all. Beyond the prosperous cities, most Chinese are probably still driving oxen and donkeys.

Because there are many things they don't produce and want to import.

Such as medical equipment, medicine, high-tech parts, micro chips, airplanes, plane parts, weapons, cars, trucks, boats etc. Hopefully they will consider the "Made in USA" tag a cool thing like the rest of the world once did.
