I know my dads friends parents came from India ten years ago. They are both seniors. None of them have worked a DAY in their lives in the USA but they get 500 or so dollars a month as "pension".
My friends grandma also receives 450 "pension" a month. Has she worked a DAY of her life in the US? Came from India around 4 years ago. NOPE! She does not even know English. HOW ABOUT THAT?
What type of a STUPID rule or law is this? I want it repealed right now!

But you're liberal.
While I disagree with most of what you say, I'm with you 100% on this one.
My wife's granny was a long time recipient. She had retired in China years before coming here and never worked a minute in the US. My own mother who worked most of her life for the federal government apparently wasn't qualified for jack.

What does being a liberal have to do with it?
It is common sense. What the hell? I wanna stop working right now and go to India and come back in 50 years (I am 21) and just get money doing nothing. Awesome!
Why even go to college for my teaching degree? I just wanna get old and wrinkly and get my free money! $$$$$$$$$$$$
Edit-your mom needs to go kick the federal governments ass. My aunt in Canada was pissed because she came to Canada like 40 years ago when she was 20. Worked here and is now near retirement. When she retires, can you guess how much she will get? Like 450 a month. The FOREIGNERS? They get a good cushy 750! I know it is Canada but we are pretty similar with them in a way if you know what I mean.
Oh and same with my grandparents. My grandma does not know a WORD of English. Oh. But she knows when her checks come in. What a load of ****!

It's been liberals pushing this kind of nonsense for the past 30+ years. It was nearly undone in the early 1990s but a bunch of Liberal activist lawyers got it back into near it's former *glory* by 1996.
My mom died 17 years ago. Her medical bills wiped out everything she'd worked for as well as a good chunk of the savings of 4 children. Finally after everything was gone and there was no more to squeeze, during the last months of her life and only after all of her assets were wiped out was she qualified for assistance.
You're only 21 and you're already starting to see what a mess our system is so I'm guessing that as you have more experience with life and realize the real world isn't quite the picture painted by academia, you will at some point in the not-so-distant future need to change your handle.
Canada is nothing like the US. In the 1970's the US and Canada were almost indistinguishable but after the Vietnam war, Canada started veering heavily left. It has worked out OK for Canada but it also has a very small population with very different dynamics than the US. That type of socialism works on small scale with a homogeneous population but not with a much larger and diverse population. In short, a nation the size and complexity of the US can't effectively be micromanaged because there are too many variables to wreck the machine. A smaller government may not be as fair or ideal as it leaves a lot of room for error but it won't break down under it's own weight.
It's our massive liberal social programs and accompanying laws to support them, such as the one that has raised your own ire, that are crippling the nation. While liberal social programs are indeed good and noble in fundamental theory, in reality they almost invariably prove disastrous. Disabled war vets are kicked to the curb while junkies are subsidized, citizens go hungry while foreigners get paid for existing, blacks live in poverty because the welfare system punishes them for getting a job or if the father stays in the home. Our liberal social programs don't just wreak havoc here, they reach across oceans. Africans no longer farm because farmers can't compete with the free food we ship so Africa is in a permanent state of dependency that the Chinese are using to their advantage. Our good natured liberal charity is setting up an entire continent for decades or even centuries of indentured servitude. Sorry to be so long winded but that's just scratching the surface of what it has to do with being liberal.
I was pretty liberal when I was 21 too. But that was 30 years ago.
It's impossible to comment intelligently on this until you can explain what you're talking about.
What is this "pension" these people are supposedly getting? Who is paying it? What is the authority for them to receive it? If it is part of some government program, what is the program and what are its regulations and eligibility requirements?

Notice, nowhere does it mention one must have “contributed†to this fund. The proposed amnesty bill includes family reunification. As such, illegals would be able to sponsor their parents, many whom are elderly. They too, would qualify for these benefits. Is this crazy, or what?

A friend of mine had a 5 year old kid that collects social security because he has learning disabilities like ADD. When politicians look at programs like social security, they want to spread the wealth around in a move to be compassionate, not realizing that the people the program was meant for, and the taxpayers, all suffer.
I would rather my tax money went to somebody’s grandmother than providing a subsidy for a monopolist oil or defense contractors. The problem with our increasingly system is the money is used to support the already wealthy that hoard their receipts instead of the poor people that spend every dime they receive. There is zero economic multiplier associated with hoarding.
We need a system that protects the bottom of the income scale from abject poverty while enforcing a monopoly free market system on the bankers and investors. They can afford to play in the casino and the rest of us cannot. Nor should we be forced by below inflation savings interest to do so.

AHAD is clearly one group of people the system is designed for, so your post is rather confusing.
